Idina Menzel , one of the two leading ladies of Wicked , won as Best Actress in a Musical. The Stephen Schwartz/Winnie Holtzman show that tells the "backstory" of The Wizard of Oz also picked up awards in two design categories: Susan Hilferty won for Best Costumes, and Eugene Lee took home the Best Scenic Design award.
